What AgeMint does, and where its dates come from.
What AgeMint is
AgeMint is a collection of free date and calendar tools for the Hijri and Gregorian calendars. Hijri dates are based on the Umm al-Qura calendar. Age is calculated as whole years, whole months, and the remaining days.
AgeMint includes twelve tools across three groups:
- Age: age calculator, age difference, age on a given date, and when you turn a given age
- Date: Hijri calendar, Hijri converter, the difference between two dates, and adding or subtracting time
- Countdowns: birthdays, Ramadan, Eid, and any date you choose
Ramadan and Eid
Ramadan and Eid begin when the moon is sighted, not simply when a calculation says they do. The official announcement may differ from the calculated date by one day, and no calculation can say in advance which it will be.
AgeMint displays the calculated Umm al-Qura date, and those pages clearly state this.
Free and private
AgeMint is free. There is no account and no sign-up.
Most calculations run entirely in your browser. If you choose to create a shareable link, the information in that link is sent to the server only to generate the requested page and, where applicable, a preview for messaging apps. See the Privacy Policy for details.
